Twynholm (the home of the Coulthard family) lies about three miles North West of the town of Kirkcudbright. The small parish church sits at the Southern end of the village, a few yards away from the remains of the town motte and bailey castle.
Built in 1818, it replaced an earlier church of which nothing now remains.
