My g.g.g.g grandparents Thomas GOWLING and wife Ann were married in the church “Thomas GOWLING, mason, 21 yrs & Ann THOMPSON spinster 23 yrs b o t p were married by Banns 02/08/1773. Both signed Ann with X her mark i t p o John Bird & Matthew Mounsey.”
Their 10 children were christened in the church and Thomas & Ann along with 3 of their children Hannah, William and Joseph are buried in Tomb #2 in the churchyard.
When we moved homes several years ago I lost the photo of this tomb sent to me by a friend in UK.
I am writing a Family History and I have a direct descendant line from Thomas and Ann Gowling nee Thompson. I cannot find a christening for Thomas Gowling born circa 1751 with certainty and would really like to solve this problem. Prior to him I have recorded many Gowling/Goulding names which could fit but none christened in 1751.
I would be very appreciative of some kind person to take another photo of Tomb # 2 and one for Hannah Thompson if there is one - she was Ann's mother.
