St Mary the Virgin-cross shaft, Gisburn

St Mary the Virgin
Gisburn
North Yorkshire

This beautiful Yorkshire church has early 12th century origins, and is well worth a look. In the church yard a single cross shaft can be found, sticking directly out of the earth.

I'm not sure when this cross shaft dates from, but if I find out, I'll update this post.
